Inspiration
Coastal Walk. I regularly walk along the beach in Laytown towards Bettystown and Mornington. When the tide is starting to recede - and the waters start to move away from the shore a treasure trove is left behind, Beautiful Sea Drift logs, seashells etc get stranded on the shoreline.. “Sea Drift” is my interpretation of the shoreline. Worked up in a wool background with dyed silk scrim and a dyed silk carrier rod. French Knots embroidered onto scrim with dyed silk and organza fabric embellished layers.

Sea Drift represented in Textile Art, Inspired by Shoreline after the sea recedes. Bountiful of treasures Sea-drift, sea shells, seaweed, Embroidered French Knots, Dyed Silk fabric, Organza and cotton scrim are layered onto felted merino wool on a BainIn background.
