Inspiration:
Sally Gap in Co. Wicklow
One of my favourite places to visit. Spectacular view of blanket bog land with beautiful heather blooming interspersed with flowers, fauna and foliage as you take in the views across the valley.
Using Merino Wool Pre-felt as the canvas background, I work up the textures using various blends of dyed wool fibres together with dyed silk fabric, cocoons, wool batts, embroidery stitch with gold thread to capture the colours and textures of the landscape.
